For his part 2 qualification he had to perform a full service front to back on a bike with carbs in front of the assessors. Although the bike was running perfectly fine when he bought it he then carried out the following in front of the examiners. Front forks stripped and serviced. Brake fluid flush and replace with new fluid. Strip, clean and lubricate brake callipers and adjust brakes. Replace spark plugs and engine oil. Remove and clean air filter. Clean and calibrate carbs. Flush and replace coolant. All pivots and moving parts cleaned, checked and greased. Set up the suspension. In addition he fitted a new front tyre although the previous one is included in the sale as it still has plenty of life. It is running Contis front and rear. He then used it at one track day at Snetterton to make sure everything runs as it should which it does. It is stored in a heated and carpeted workshop and certainly hasn’t seen any rain since my son bought it. He tells me it can also run a daytime MOT.
