My beloved first bike. Bought couple of years ago. Bought it from an owner whos’s wife bought it after he passed hi tests and then they moved to spain. It sat dry stored for 8 years undercover. Bit of a special bike as they were a limited edition. The Honda CBR600F4 was produced between 1999 and 2000. It is the last of the CBR600 series of Honda sportbikes to be carbureted. An aluminium twin spar frame which reduced frame weight was used, and the engine crankcase was designed to share swing-arm pivot. Through a reduction of internal friction and weight, combined with larger valves, shorter stroke, and a bigger bore, higher revs were enabled. The spark plug caps had Ignition coils built into them. Slightly larger carbs were added and the oil cooler was now located by the oil filter. A new suspension had larger 43 mm forks and used Fireblade parts. The front brakes were upgraded, and the rear rim increased to 5.5 with new 3-spoke wheels. The F4 was fitted with Hondas HISS engine immobiliser system. The phrase Dedicated to Super Evaluators Dirk Vandenberg and Josef Boyd. Are embossed in raised letters on the inside of the Honda CBR600F4’s upper fairing. The dedication is to two of Honda R&D’s senior product developers who were killed during the final testing of this model. 21000 miles, it has 8 thou on it when i bought it and i have done a bit of euro tour on it over the last few summers hence the jump in milage since i have owned it. Awesome bike, sounds lovely rides spot on as they should. Mega reliable as you would expect from Hondas this age. Since i have owned it i have done the following: Can chain tensioner – RRC Performance – Meriden. Replaced fuel hoses and taps. New plugs Full service every year, air filter, oil and filters. Metzler Racetck M7RR tyres front last year. New on the rear this spring. I have never seen a cleaner 600 of this age, it is mint. Couple of mnor scratches on tank, all plastics are exceptional condition. Basically evrytime it goes out it gets washed and polished. Protected with rust inhibitor over the winter.
