Very Tidy and Reliable Honda CBR600 F4i Sport 2001 in Black. As it happens, I have successfully not crashed and now want to enter into competitive racing but will be opting for a 1000cc as it’s more what I’m used to. As the bike had been stood in someones garage for 2 years when I bought the bike, I did the following. Full oil and filter change. Brake service front and rear with new pads and fluid. Replaced tank bushes and R Clips. Replaced Spark Plugs. Coolant flush and replace. Chain and Sprockets. I proceeded to participate in a number of track days in the Novice Group, I passed my race license and moved up to the intermediate group and have recently dabbled in the expert group. I think I did 6 overall including a couple of evenings at Cadwell so not the same amount of track time. During Lockdown I carried out the following. Oil and Filter Change. Coolant Change again with distilled water (you are advised to do this if intending to race). As a 6 foot – 14 stone bloke, the suspension has been set up for that. I was at Croft last week and the bike performed brilliantly but… One of my best pals crucified me on the straights on a GSXR 1000 so now naturally…. I want a 1000 so I can beat him. I still had him in the corners as the bike is very light and holds it’s own very well. The bike has started on the button every time I’ve used it and hasn’t let me down. The fairings are in decent condition but the belly pan is cracked so won’t hold fuilds (a regulation of racing is that the belly pan holds the contents of the engine if it were to spring a leak). There are a couple of cracks around the fixings but I’m sure if someone had time they could sort this out. Mechanically, the bike is great. Starts well, pulls well and stops well. With that Akropovic exhaust system it sounds brilliant and passes sound tests easily. The bike has a couple of extras like custom rearsets and pegs – these conform to racing regulations should you wish to enter. Metzeler K3’s front and Rear with plenty of tread, they certainly grip well enough to destroy knee sliders (pic attached). I’m including a spare set of wheels with wets on but I haven’t used these so can’t tell you if they’re any good. The bike is cash on collection only – located in Harrogate.
