Removed from the very well maintained 2001’Y’ reg Honda CBR 600 F4I shown. The bike had an indicated 52118 Kms on the clock, and was running well prior to dismantling (the actual bike is shown, and a short video of the bike running can be viewed below)………. In clean overall condition with no leakage evident. The spring is in good condition and is marked up Ohlins 1093-54/140 L122. The body of the shock is marked up at the top H01510 on one side, and 110768 on the other (ie, either side of the top mount knuckle). The remote adjuster knob turns easily and’clicks’. The slot adjuster on the reservoir also turns easily and’clicks’. The lower knurled adjuster also turns easily and’clicks’. Some minor marks on the top of the reservoir. Cosmetically the main point of note is the salt damage to the alloy on one side of the lower mount spacer / bush (see pics 5 and 6). The shock measures approx 312mm from the centre of one mount to the centre of the other. The top mount is 28mm across, and the lower mount is 38.8mm. I found the shock a little soft for me (but I’m 18.5 st in weight). The previous owner, I’d guess, was more in the region of 11st. The mileage at that time was 29967 kms. A brief summary of the actual donor bike. The bike was bought privately. The bike had been owned by the previous owner since new (ie for the last 20 years). Originally an’import’ model (Netherlands I believe ; frame number JH2PC35E91M206771). The owner used the bike on a regular basis, and it was very well cared for. The owner did have an accident in 2006 and the bike was a Cat D write-off. A major service was carried out in 2019. Honda CBR 600 F4I running……..
