Both wheels are fitted with two different rubber compounds in the 3LC (Three Layer Compound) process. The mixture in the middle of the tread ensures good brake force transmission at the front wheel or for high traction and mileage at the rear wheel, the rubber compound on the tire shoulder is responsible for maximum adhesion in an inclined position. The rubber compounds used in the BT 016 Pro have been completely redeveloped, giving the BT 016 Pro even better wet grip while increasing mileage. The technologies “Silica Rich EX” (increased silica content in the mixture) and “RC Polymer” are used. “RC Polymer” supports the silica effect and at the same time controls the temperature-dependent change of the rubber compound. The construction of the front and rear wheels is based on Bridgestone’s proven High Tensile Super Penetrated Cord (HTSPC) platform with MSB (Mono Spiral Belt) steel belt. Thanks to this structure, the control of slides and the line fidelity are optimized in curves, without having to give up good shock absorption. The increased rigidity of the construction helps to maintain a consistent contact surface and stability at high speeds.
